Your donation will allow us to continue our mission to provide a safe, fun, equitable, and inclusive environment for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education through diverse programs, activities, opportunities, and mentorship, including robotics, FIRST Lego League, and FIRST Tech Challenge Teams.

Our vision is to serve as the central hub for STEAM and FIRST initiatives in Del Norte and surrounding counties.

What is STEAM and why is it important?

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) educational activities are important because they:

  • Promote Holistic Learning: Integrate arts with STEM, fostering creativity alongside technical skills.
  • Enhance Problem-Solving: Develop critical thinking and collaboration through complex, real-world problems.
  • Encourage Interdisciplinary Approach: Reflect the interconnected nature of modern careers.
  • Boost Engagement: Make learning more engaging and accessible by combining arts and sciences.
  • Build 21st Century Skills: Emphasize communication, teamwork, adaptability, and digital literacy.
  • Foster Innovation: Encourage creative thinking and innovation.
  • Prepare for Careers: Help students identify and pursue high-demand careers.
  • Support Educational Equity: Provide varied entry points for diverse learning styles and encourage participation from underrepresented groups.

Finally, STEAM activities promote wonder, foster creativity, and are just plain FUN!

Your Donation will go towards:

The many fantastic experiences planned, such as workshops, weekend popups and STEAM carnivals, clubs, teen’s night, playgroups, and more! Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • 3-D printing workshops: Older kids can learn how to design and 3-D print parts, mini-figurines, toys, games, and more.
  • Teen Night: Teens can enjoy the space with games, a VR Headset, pizza, and crafts in a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Family Night: Families can come in and play board games, build a marble run, Lego, or Kinex, and just have a lovely evening connecting and wondering together.
  • Robotics: We plan to have robots for every age and skill level. There will be short workshops, clubs, and of course, our FIRST Competition Teams!
  • Carnivals: Themed events where youth can create, learn, and have fun! Think Art stations, Magnet experiments, Chemistry fun, Engineering challenges; the list is endless!
  • Calling all artists: Art is so much more than drawing or painting! Let’s have fun with music, make jewelry with UV resin, learn how to screen print, and beyond! There is soooo much to learn and do!

We need your help to stay affordable and sustainable! All of these amazing initiatives need financial, in-kind,  and volunteer support! We are so grateful for any giving and thank you from the bottom of our wonder-filled hearts.
